Currently July

Ahh, my first summer Currently of the year! Can you believe that July 4 is this Friday?

Listening: I LOVE this show! Although I must say that they broke my heart at the end of Season 3. I was SOO upset! Please tell me Season 4 has a happier ending...

Loving: We finally caved and bought a Roku, which has been so nice. We cancelled cable almost 2 years ago, but I've missed having options. Now we can watch anything on Amazon Prime! Plus this means I can finally watch Downton Abbey on the TV instead of my little 7' screen on the Kindle. Much better!

Thinking: A friend of mine let me borrow the book, and I really like it! Unfortunately I have to wait until Keagan is sleeping. But that's also my blogging time, cleaning time...so many choices, so little time!

Wanting: Keagan and I went for our first play date this summer, and we had so much fun! There were 3 other moms and about 9 kids. We have a few more play dates set up, but Steven and I also plan on getting together with a few of the couples in our group. It should be quite a social summer!

Needing: I've already been fortunate enough to have 2 hours of quiet time from Keagan's nap, but I have a few more things to do. At least I've been able to vacuum...

4th Plans: There's a potential that we will have a Tropical Storm to deal with, but I'm hoping it doesn't put a damper on our plans. Keagan decided he loved fireworks after Memorial Day, so I'd hate for him to miss them. Plus we're supposed to go swimming before dinner with the family on Friday. Maybe they will at least reschedule fireworks somewhere nearby if we get rained out.

I also posted today on Adventures in Literacy Land about reading picture books in the upper grades, so go check it out!

  2. HI there! I found you through the July currently linky. I haven't watched Downton Abbey but hear it is a really great show! Maybe I should start that as my summer watching. Sounds like you can get so much done during your little ones nap! I'm so jelly! Our little one is still unpredictable with schedule. I guess only being 2 months old will do that to you. Good luck getting everything accomplished that you want to! I know that the 'alone' time is so few and far between but highly valued!

  3. I watched Downton Abbey during all of those lovely snow days. It is amazing, but I know what you mean about the heartbreak! I couldn't believe it. Fingers crossed for good holiday weather!

  4. I loved, loved, loved, The Fault In Our Stars. I'm desperate to see the movie, but the bf will have nothing to do with it. I can't imagine why he wouldn't want to sit next to me while I sob uncontrollably for two hours. Rude! :)

  6. OK so at the end of season 3 we had a family debate as to whether or not he was dead, or just injured. But let me tell you Season 4 is much happier. And don't forget to watch the Christmas special. Your blog is adorable - great title! Are you a Mo Willems Fan? I just found you through Farley's currently.

  7. Melissa -

You MUST tell me more about Roku and Amazon Prime. How does it work? We just signed a 1 yr contract with DirecTV, but after that I'm ready to get off of the cable/dish merry-go-round.

  8. I'm hoping we won't have to deal with that Tropical Storm either. Luckily we won't be in town but it most likely means the whole East Coast will be dealing with rain on the fourth :(

I also just read and commented on your post in Adventures in Literacy Land! Agree agree agree with everything you said!

  11. Roku RULES! I got one for xmas, and I fell in love with it immediately. One of the best inventions!
I'm working on season 3 of Sons of Anarchy right now, but will start Downton soon. Not sure I'll like it though; English period pieces aren't my thing.
